At the
heart of SMJK Yu Hua is Tea Corner, an area of
roughly 65 m2 which is built for
providing a
place for Chinese Society to have a place to conduct
tea ceremonies. It is just next to the school
library and situated right where the students will
pass on their way to the canteen. A beautifully
crafted
wooden stand rises amongst the greenery and blends
with the
surroundings so perfectly that, together with the
various types of plants of different shapes and
sizes at the corner, it creates
a soothing aura around the area.
Since
its completion in March 2004 after one month of
construction work, it has been a favourite place for
st udents
to rest and relax during recess period and after
school. Students of all forms can be seen posing
around the Tea Corner especially when it is close
towards the end of the year. It has also provided a
perfect setting for students to hold a small group
meeting or just to chat with their friends. Although
the area is not very large, it is very refreshin g
for students as well as teachers after a day of
learning and teaching.
Tea
Corner is officiated on 24 March 2004 by old boys of
the school, Mr. And Mrs. Low Ching
Ming, who are also the sponsors for this RM 15000
project. Also present at the ceremony is our
school’s Principal, Chief of the Yi Qing
Publications, PIBG members, and Teacher Advisors of
Chinese Society.
