The students of SMJK Yu Hua took part in the annual road run event on  12 February 2010. Road run is the sport of running on a measured course over an established road (as opposed to track and cross country running)

 Teachers and students assembled in the school hall as early as 7.20 am. Attendance was taken by class teachers and Mr. Nagaya – the Senior Assistant for Co-curricular Activities gave a short briefing.

The event kicked off with a warm up session. Teachers in charge and their assistants were then deployed to the respective places along the routes. The students were dispatched according to categories which are Class 1 male and female (Form 4, 5 and 6), Class 2 (Form 3) and Class 3 (Form Remove, 1 and 2).

The distances ran by each category of students are as follows:

1.     Male   - Class 1,2,3                                    7 km

2.     Female – Class 1,2,3                                  5 km

            Whilst awaiting the results, the students were entertained by the school band. The culmination of the event was the prize giving ceremony which was held about 11 am. Top ten runners for each category were given prizes. This is one of the most anticipated event ahead of our Sports day which will be held in the month of April. Marks were awarded to the specific sport house  of green, yellow, blue or red. The overall winner of this event was the blue house. Congratulations to them.
