11th Yu Hua
Leadership Camp of 2008
The three-day leadership camp was held at Kem Idaman
Nurani, Hulu Langat. On the 26th of May
2008, the place became a training ground for
successors to Yu Hua’s co-curriculum organisation
administration. About a hundred students represented
their co-curriculum organisations to participate in
the camp. Kem Idaman Nurani was a place with simple
facilities to encourage self-discipline and
independence.
Accommodation for the participants and food provided
throughout the course were simple and had little
margin for anything to go wrong. Participants were
grouped into teams of eight upon reaching the camp –
team leaders were then elected by fellow team mates.

Games and talks
were held at the venue’s open-air hall. Among those
who gave talks and speeches to the participants were
Mr Nagayaya and a few professional individuals from
renowned local colleges such as the Sunway
University College, Taylor’s College and the NILAI
International College. Fun and games between the
talks kept the participants enthusiastic.
Other than talks and games, challenging outdoor
activities were also held for participants’
entertainment. These activities included a four-hour
jungle trek and a two-hour obstacle course crossing.
They ensured the participants’ equal development of
mind and body throughout the three-day camp.
Participants also had to assemble for morning
workouts at 6 in the morning.
Lastly, teams had to put up a drama performance to
show their understanding of the world of leaders and
leadership. All of the eight teams did great and
received thunderous applauses after each
performance.
At the end of the camp, every team was a winner –
the staff assigned each team a worthy title. The
participants returned home with much more knowledge
to prepare them for the leadership they’re about to
inherit as Form Four co-curriculum partakers.
