The event was held at the SMJK Yu Hua school hall on 15 October 2009. Teachers and students gathered at the hall to greet the Guest of Honour and her spouse who were escorted into the hall by the administrators and senior teachers.

Members of the cultural club performed a dance as a tribute to Madam. Lee. This was followed by a touching speech by the Principal, Mr Chan Kai Choon. Many other teachers also paid tribute to Madam Lee who is known for her hard work.  Her last speech on the school stage was an emotional one and will be deeply remembered by everyone.

Next in the agenda was souvenir presentation. Mdm. Lee is well loved by students and teachers alike for her inspirational ways. Her rapport with the school staff and students were evident when many came forward to honour her with various gifts and presentations. Many teachers and students openly wept as they realized that they are going to lose a truly noble and great educator who has been instrumental in shaping the lives of many during her tenure as a teacher for over 30 years.

          At the end of the event, Mdm Lee was escorted down the stage. Members of school uniformed bodies saluted her as a mark of respect.
