Statistics:
SMJK Hu Yua is in the midst of constructing
two new blocks, and is expected to
complete in two years. This project is
divided into two phases. The first phase of
the construction commenced on the 3rd
of December 2004 and the expected date of
completion is in mid July-August 2005.
Being the only chinese national type
secondary school in Hulu langat, SMJK Yu
Hua is a popular choice among chinese
parents; the main reason being Yu Hua’s 5
period allocation per week for chinese
language studies.
According to latest statistics, Yu Hua’s
student population consists of 6100
students, 3200 of the count being the
secondary school students and 2900 being
the primary students. Due to the increasing
number of students, the Form One classes
have to accommodate 58 students per class,
hence the importance of the two new blocks
that are being constructed.
The two new blocks will house a 2 storey
staff room, 4 science labs, technical and
vocational rooms, 4 computer rooms and 18
class rooms. Besides that,there are also
lecture halls,a counselling room and a
discipline room.
The whole project is slated to cost RM 6.5
million. Since the school has only managed
to raise RM 500,000, the school hopes that
parents,teachers,current and former students
and the public will help to raise funds for
this project. The school’s Construction
Project Committee will offer some financial
support to ensure the completion of this
project.
Collection from the recently concluded food
fair cum jumble sales is expected to add in
another RM 200,000 to the coffer. Another
upcoming event that is also expected to
bring in funds is the Gala Dinner. This
Dinner is scheduled to take place somewhere
in the last quarter of the year 2005.

Construction of New Block will commence in
December 2005 right after the SPM exams. The
demolition of the old Block that stood the
test of time will mark the end of an era. We
will post pictures of the old Living Skills
(KH) & Domestic Science block for your
viewing.
