 Kajang Yu Hua OBA in brief

On October 31^st 1974, a group of old boys and girls with the presence of the Headmasters of both the primary and secondary schools met at the Kajang Merchants Club. They exchanged views and ideas as whether an OBA or alumna should be formed or not. A pro tem committee of 11 members headed by Mr.Tan Kee Boon was formed on that very night. When the constitution was ready, a meeting of old boys and girls was initiated by the pro tem committee on November 10^th 1974 and the 1^st OBA Committee was formed. The late Tan Sri Lee Siok Yew who was an old boy of the school and who was then the Deputy Minister of Education of Malaysia , together with other conspicuous figures and dignitaries in the town were invited to sit on the panel of advisers to the OBA.

 31 years had passed and the OBA had done a lot for their Alma Mater especially in the reconstruction of the old buildings of the Primary School and the erection of two new blocks and a school hall for the Secondary School. Apart from that, OBA in its effort to unite all old boys and girls under one roof and to have permanent venue to carry out its activities, bought a three-storeyed shop house at Jalan Reko Kajang in the year 1989. The OBA under the captainship of Mr. Lee Hing since taken over the helm from Mr. Tan Kee Boon in 1980 has done a lot not only for the OBA, the Alma Mater, but also to the Kajang community as a whole. The OBA pledges that it will always strive to flourish the use of its Mother Tongue i.e. the Chinese Language and the Chinese Culture through its activities and programs.

We take this opportunity to thank all past committee members, old boys and girls alike n the Kajang community for their support and contributions to OBA all these years.

加影育华校友会简史

            加影育华中小学校，自一九一八年创立以来。在董教学三方面的合作及社会热爱母语教育人士大力之持下，在第二次大战前,已蔚为中马有名学府之一。虽然在一九四零年代曾有一群校友发起筹组校友会，可惜当一切准备就绪时，却因遭遇太平洋战争爆发,日军南侵而不果。

            战后母校迅速复办,校务蒸蒸日上，生数也与年激增,尤其是育华小学面对教师不敷的难题.为了不使热爱母校教育的家长失望;同时鉴于母校十年来为社会国家栽培了不少人才，校友众多，且散布全马各地，为加强联系，以便互通声气，共同为谋母校的发展而贡献一分力量。也为了联络校友间的感情，一群热爱母校的校友就在一九七四年十月三十一日假加影商矿公会礼堂召开校友座谈会，就筹组加影育华校友会事交换意见，出席者非常踊跃。老校友刘起华先生，育小校长王有材，育中校长颜金炮等均莅临参加，且提供宝贵意见给大家参考。座谈会由陈启文主持；记录郑惠明，经过交换意见后，一致通过即席产生十一人临时筹委会，负责草拟章程等应办事宜。人选为陈启文（召集人），郑惠明，游源泉，李清文，杨德明，张金福，王火基，李福祥，曾容光，李明河，何金凤。

            临时筹委草拟好章程，联络了各地校友后，即于一九七四年十一月十日在育中学图书馆召开校友会筹备大会。主席陈启文，记录郑惠明，与会者即热烈发言支持，认为组织[加影育华校友会]乃急不容缓者。会议通过章程后，即席产生十一人筹委会，负责向社团注册官申请注册等事宜。

            会议当选筹委即进行复选，名单如下；正主席：陈启文，副主席：曾荣光，正秘书：杨德明，副秘书：郑惠明，财政：何金凤，委员：游源泉，李清文，戴荣俊，黄秀全，张金福，李福祥。

            会议也通过邀请老校友丹斯里李孝友部长，李德恕州议员，刘雁飞太平局绅，刘起华先生，刘约来先生，育小王有材校长，育中颜金炮校长为顾问。黄木良律师为法律顾问，以便随时咨询指导。

            在筹备期间，一九七五年三月为庆祝母校五十七周年校庆，特发动校友回校日，为母校祝寿，并让散处各地校友得有机会欢聚一堂，把酒话久，得到各地校友的热烈响应。母校中、小学部在籍同学也在曾上贡献歌唱和舞蹈节目助兴，情况热烈，大获成功。

            一九七五年四月十六日本会申请注册获社团注册官批准，筹委会即积极进行征求会员，旋即于八月十六日在育小召开第一届会员大会，正式产生第一届理事会，筹委会工作于是宜告大功告成。结束工作，第一届初选理事经复选后，结果如下；

            第一届理事会成立后，即配合育小董事会，家长教师协会积极筹画和发展筹募育小扩建教室基金而努力。在各界热爱母校教育人士之大力支持下，义赛，义卖，义演等筹款运动，如火如荼的发展，使育小第一期拥有十二间教师的三层楼新校舍于一九七六年底落成，一九七七年开学时正式启用。现又积极进行第二期也是一座拥有十二间教师的三层楼新校舍之筹募工作，预计在一九七七年底落成，一九七八年开学时正式启用。对母校的发展与进展，本会已尽了棉力。

            校友会在吕兴同学的引航以及众理事的同力合作，加上各校友及社会人士的支持下，在一九八九年购置了一栋位于加影流古路的四层楼店铺，楼下及二楼供以出租，三楼及四楼作为本会各股的活动空间，如歌咏，书法，青年团活动等有益身心的活动。

            本会成立至今也已经过了三十个年头，历史也不算是太长，尚希望大家的合作与指导，支持与协助，使它能日益成长，俾能为国家社会进一分力量
