An Unforgettable Day

    I live in a dull world where everyday we follow the same routine. So you can guess that when something happens, it is going to be an unforgettable day.

    In all my fifteen years of existence in this gloomy world, finally a miracle happened that changed the way I looked at life forever.

    One fateful morning, I went my regular way, jogging by the river beside our village. Suddenly, I had what they called a woman’s instinct that told me to change course and head to a miniature jungle nearby.

    A tiger had pounced on a girl of about my age and was dragging her by the arm to its cave. The girl was screaming all the time but her voice was getting fainter as she gradually lost a lot of blood.

    I was dumbstruck as I saw them getting further away. Then , I felt as if I was struck by lightning when two words came into my mind, “get help”.

    I spun and ran all the way back to the village and explained the situation to the chief as best as I could. He immediately called the fire department to capture the tiger and an ambulance to rescue the girl. As the second dragged past, I was getting more worried that we would arrive too late.

    Luckily, the rescuers arrived after just one minute and then the action began. With the help of a guide, the fire department tracked down the tiger and without much struggle, had it confined in a cage. The bleeding and unconscious girl was taken to the hospital in the blink of eye. The whole incident took less than ten minutes and everyone, including myself was still quite baffled.

     In the end, a few villagers stayed behind to clean up the mess. I went home feeling more excited than ever and realized that our lives are very precious and must be lived to fullest. That day would be remembered as the most unforgettable day of my life.
